Act 1. [ Part 3 ]

Begin...

The Shinx Outlaw was a surprisingly strong foe, clearly knowledgeable when it came to battling, utilising a range of attacks, but in the end, you were the one who came out victorious. The Deino was immensely grateful, thanking you repeatedly, relieved to have been spared from the Shinx’s unexplainable wrath. With the Deino’s help, you managed to escape the Dungeon, dragging the unconscious Outlaw with you back to the Guild.

Back at the Guild, the Swablu spotted their friend and rushed over, fawning over him, relieved to see him safe and sound. They turned to you, thanking you, then turned to face the Outlaw you’d brought back with you, the Dragon type giving him a distasteful look.

TUNDRA

Welcome back, explorer! Look at that, I see you managed to take on this Outlaw after all. Good job, I’m proud of you. On top of that, the Spidops finally confessed to the location of his hideout, so now a Guild team has gone to retrieve the stash. Once they return and confirm the items are there, we’ll be able to hand the Spidops over to proper authorities.

TUNDRA

You’ve done quite well with these new tasks, I will admit. I am very impressed. Now, it is late, you should certainly go get some well-deserved rest. I do hope you’re also proud of your efforts! Tomorrow, you’re free to do as you like. Return to regular Quests, find another Outlaw to take on if you’re feeling up to it. Maybe even take the day to relax if you really wish, I’d say you deserve it after all. I’ll handle this Outlaw here and tomorrow we’ll begin the investigation.

The past two days had been rather exhausting, so you take the offer to get some rest. Even just making your way to Dense Canopy had taken a large part of the day, let alone dragging the Outlaw all the way back. The Guild was peaceful and quiet, many others also having settled down to sleep. It was relaxing, and tomorrow would hopefully bring a good day.

A sudden loud clattering and a multitude of voices, both angry and confused, startled you awake. Scrambling out of your room, you spotted several Guild members stumbling out into the main area, some still dazed, others furious from being woken up. It was still pitch black outside, the moon still fairly high in the dark sky. Even Tundra and Nevermore were both stood in the main area, looking around. The Guildmaster seemed the most disoriented of the two, but Tundra was highly alert, eyes narrowed sharply. Then, without warning, he took off through the Guild. A few Guild members followed out of curiosity or instinct. You joined them.

Following Tundra to the entrance of the Guild, several objects were knocked over or scattered around, creating obstacles that you all had to navigate around. Soon, you finally spotted the cause of all the commotion. In the distant darkness just outside the Guild, you spotted two silhouettes fleeing into the night, and right behind them was the Shinx Noibat you’d apprehended only a few hours earlier. He heard the commotion and furious yells of the Guild Pokemon, turning to look at you all with a dark grin, before following after his allies.

TUNDRA

I can’t believe this! The Shinx must have had teammates of his own that snuck in and broke him out! Come on, we can’t let these criminals go that easily!

Tundra gave chase, with you and one or two other Guild members following after, while the rest returned to the Guild to clean up and head back to sleep. Rushing after the triad of Outlaws, a Noctowl with widened eyes spotted your group and held out a wing, pointing in the direction where the three had fled: Scarlet Canopy. Another of the newer Dungeons the Guild had begun looking into, one that had a permanent autumnal aesthetic. Fallen orange leaves carpeted the ground, fresh pumpkins growing all around, and a permanent cool breeze no matter the weather right outside the forest’s confines.

Your small group followed after the fleeing Outlaws, but they’d all made terrifying ground, and were no more than silhouettes in the distance. But they hadn’t escaped just yet! You all pursued the trio, sprinting into the night until you eventually all made it to the Dungeon itself. Tundra hesitated outside for a moment, turning back to survey all who had followed him.

TUNDRA

They fled in here. It’s incredibly dark now, however, and that means it’ll be a lot more dangerous to search for them, especially with such a considerably sized group. If you wish to press on, you may come with me, and you will stay close so as to not get lost. Otherwise, you’re welcome to return to the Guild. I will not blame you for that decision. If anything, it is the safer option. Make your decision now, as there isn’t time to waste.
